Ann Russon Bird, wife of John Bird, and mother of six children came across the plains to Utah in 1855.

The Bird family came from Birmingham,England in the mid 1800's and settled in the small town of Springville, Utah the year after it was founded by a group of eight (8) pioneer families on assignment from Brigham Young. The Bird family (Walter Bird being the primary ancestor) has lived in Springville, or at least a part of the family, since that time.
